London is quality, although you should get a ticket for whatever night you want to go to well in advance they can get very pricey,

How about Prague?! thats where I'm thinking this year

Do Edinburgh instead! Hogmonay -as it is known there- is fantastic fun and definitely not to be missed!

Jeff, you´d definitely spend a great time in Berlin at New Years, but keep in mind it will be very cold (I´m escaping this year spending it in the southern hemisphere instead ). There´s always a huge party at the Brandenburg Gate (around a million people), and clubs are packed. Only one advice, book accomodation well in advance. If you´ve got some more questions let me know.

As far as I know there a couple of Meininger hostels in Berlin and they seem to be a good choice.
What clubs to avoid depends on your taste of music and the people you want to hang out with. If you let me know what music you´re into I can probably give you more advice.

hey steff!
thanks, yeah well ide rather avoid massive massive crowds altogether. but i know it will be hard in the city. We are lookin mainly for either Trip-hop/drum n bass/ downtempo type places (massive atack, Dj Shadow, etc) and really lookin for industrial and fetish type clubs. My friend comin over is really into the fetish scene and she is keen on partin in Berlin. So not sure if u can help with THAT bit :) but any advice - we just dont wanna go to mainstream type places. I love techno too but i heard the Tressor (sp) club closed which i really enjoyed last time i was in berlin. :(

anythin u can suggest?
