Hi, I plan to bike from Salzburg to Vienna. Is it cheaper to fly
to Vienna and take the train to Salzburg? How much and how long is
the train ride? Thanks..Imelda

Hi there,

when I was about 9 years old my family and I cycled all the way from Germany along the danube to Vienna/Hainburg. (we are originaly from klagenfurt)
I still love to think about the time we had and I definitely wanna do it again one day.

The best way to travel, specially if you have a bike with you isto go by train. There is a special ticket (1person, 1 bike) and I guess it is cheaper and easier for u as well.

The trip by train (from Viena to Salzburg) should be between 2-3hrs but I don't know!!!!!!! It can also be just under 4hrs!

check this address out (in german): www.oebb.at
that's the train/name of business in AUT (oebb) and u can find out about timetables and prices.

Enjoy your trip ;)

the ride should take about 2.5 hours. price depends on whether you go first class or second. for a trip that short, absolutely zero advantage to taking a first class ticket. first class is 62 euro, second is 39.80
