It seems i'm too late in booking accomodation for xmas can any1 help us out n gettin accomodation 4 the xmas months.

Best I found was Sydney Backpakers at $60 a nite. This seems an awful amout of cash for sharing a mixed dorm of 16 people. Really looking to stay on Bondi but seems to all be gone.

Can nebody help us or recommmend ne were 2 stay.. Also had a look at Coogie for accomodation but feel if stay there i'd miss out on vrything. 1st time away at xmas ever so be probably be very isolated from the ongoin partyin'

I relize that time is of the essence at mo as all the hostels are going like hotcakes.

Not sure whether you are travelling on your own or with friends, but if there are a few of you, I would suggest renting an apartment for a few days/week... it would probably cost you less than $60 per night and better than sharing a 16 bed dorm.... you'd have your own space to party with your travel buddies and still be in the heart of the city.

Hi Milushki,

How long do you want the accommodation for? Give me a timeframe. There's a few options round here; hostels are filling up fast though.

Wow, I really am out of the short code lingo. All those numbers are just too complicated for me to read. Generally I think not using sms code is a better way to post online :)

Hi i've got my self into a situation now where I've reserved a reservation at Sydneys backpackers. Fair Enough I understand you pay a deposit but asking for the full amount($1881) without seeing the place let alone stayin there is proposperous before the 15th Novemeber.. . Is this normal round Austraila.

Could you please.. help me out, the dates i'm looking for are December the 20th till January 8th.

On another post someone mentioned an appartment anywhere 2 stay would be a blessing.

Chrs.. Will

Well Will, you basically have a problem I guess.... It's not normal for accommodations to ask for the whole amount in advance, but at that time of year I guess most properties can get away with it (it also depends where you've reserved; was it directly with the property?). Most likely you will have lost your deposit though if you don't stay at this place.... so that might be a consideration against changing your plans.

By the way; I lived in Coogee for 9 months and it's a great party place. I preferred it over Bondi by quite a bit! And it's only about an hour (and a half maybe tops) walk to Bondi along the coast which is a GREAT walk!

Short code is wasted in this forum if we have to spend time deciphering it.

Anyway, Milushki, the dates you sent me: the period isn't long enough for anyone to take you in to a shared apartment. Bondi isn't party central in Sydney. Except for Xmas day it's not even the most popular beachside party venue. Fatboy Slim will bring in the crowds on NYE, but other than that Manly and Coogee are great options - and I live in Bondi. The city and habourside venues are also great. I take it you tried Another place to try is the Royal Pub, 283 Bondi Road, Bondi(02) 9130 5276. Its not overly advertised as Budget accommodation so may be a good option for a private room. It's only 5-minutes walk to the beach.

Good luck

Well I plan to go to Sydney and work there for a couple of months. So the time frame for staying isn't a real concern.(20th Dec-Feb) The shared apartment sounds like a great idea.
Do you have any details about that?

& Is Manly a good spot to be at Xmas. So long and behold the thing is to lose the reservation. n prob my deposit.cos its an extrodinary amount to pay up front without actually seeing nevermind stayin in it i thought.

Any more help would be appreciated thanks..

Ps.i'll try this indiebackpaker site as well
