Hi! I am seriously looking into renting an apartment for a week in either London or Paris. My friends and I are planning a 12-day trip to these two cities this New Year's.
Has anyone ever rented an apartment in Paris and/or London for a week as a holiday rental? Do you have any recommendations as to how to do this?
Any input would be GREATLY appreciated!
P.S.- Where would be the better place for New Year's celebrations (London or Paris?). My friends have never been anywhere outside the USA before - I want to be a good tour guide!
I would recommend London; but just because I think the party will be better there and it's an easier place to be for a first time traveller outside of the US....
I've rented apartments in several cities for longer periods (sitting in one now in Toronto and was in one two weeks ago in Montreal, but have also stayed in apartments in New York twice that I booked online). They're great if you want to cook yourself a few days and also often have a nice feel to them compared to a hotel room for so long. It can take some hunting to find the best place for each specific city, but I'm sure you'll find something!
ps. I also think it'd be easier to find an apartment in London than in Paris but you'll need to be VERY VERY quick to book for that week!
A suggestion: Why not try www.beau-paris.com where you can bypass the rental company and deal directly with the owner. You'll end up with a much larger selection and better prices. I booked a fabulous apartment from them during a recent stay. It was in the Latin Quarter and overlooked the streets and cafes and was only about 80 euros a night, we loved it!
