Oh, I also have thought of going to Easter Island next year, probably on March to April. :) I've been searching info such as flight, accomodation and others related to the trip. I've found the following which average people accepted:
1- Residential Tekena Inn USD26 a double room, USD11 for breakfast

2- Martin Y Anita Hotel: USD 36 - 56 (single), USD 67 -90 (double) Rates include Airport Transfers and breakfast

3- The Kona Tau Motel: USD$15 per person with bathroom

I was there last year Feb.
Plan to go there for the Carneval time, then you can enjoy the festival,it is fantastisch.
the flight is expensiv and you have to book early if you like to be there for the festival.
I was at the Gaesthouse VAI KAPUA,the owner Luci is a very nice Women.
I paid$20.00 for a nice big room with privat Bad.
Location is in the center of the village,so I never needed a taxi.
Some of the accommodations are far from the center, and taxis are expensiv.

LAN Chile,check there Webside
The flight is expensiv, takes about 5-6 hours.
If I remember right, there are only two flights weekly,Saturday and Monday, and the flights are allways overbookt.
If you play it good, you may voluntier for your return flight, you get accomodation free and on top one free ticket.I got a freebe Santiago to Punta Arena.
Easterisland is far out in the Pacific.
