Bump???

I've seen parents with children in India!! India is quite a tough country for children I guess but they did it. So why not in Thailand, Hong Kong and China.....as long as you keep an eye on them?

Hi Scott, surely a vacation to Asia would be ideal - rich culture, nice people, cheap accomodation, food and partying and so forth...

It's up to you, like wouterr's say: keep an eye to them! Actually travelling any places would not fully guarantee us that certain places are the safest. If you plan to set on a lonog journey with family, you ought to get prepared for anything that might happen. It could be another experience for all of you and your kids can learn on how to be independant and other good values gaining from the travelling experiences, it could be rewarding than what you'd imagine. (think positively)

Haha! Good luck anyway and bon voyage!

My son was five when I took him on a 26-day trip through Nepal & India -living in cheap hotels, and travelling by bus.He even survived a joint-stiffening ride from Srinagar to New Dehli in a stuffy, crowded bus through the night, passing some winding, mountain roads...and the train journeys from Delhi to Tamil Nad.Surely, your kids should be able to...Keep them occupied with the trills of the journey, not the destination...otherwise they will start asking you "Dad, when are we going to arrive at..."

My husband children and I made a stop over in Thailand on the way back from NZ, I was a bit nervous about Thailand with children but we found quite a lot of information on Dea Birkett's travel website and from a kids/family travel website http://www.thailand4kids.com their guide book has a whole chapter on safety and security and there's some good stuff on food etc.

As I say, I started off real nervous about Thailand but what can I say, we are already lookging to book another trip. Thailand seems to me to be the perfect family destination. 10 out of 10 in my book

Safe happy travels
