few years back a schoolmate (we were there for a school trip) paid the equivalent in forint of 80 euros instead of 8 to get inside a club; it was only her, but i remember they tried to cheat us serving Martini with water at the bar.Obviously i told them and got pissed off for that.
Be careful.

Me and my buddy went to a strip club and you had to pay a shitload to get in and if you wanted the girls to dance you had to buy a drink which was like 20 euro a peice.

Wow! Does anyone have anything good to say about Budepest? I am going there this summer, and would love some info on the best place(s) to stay. I'm on a budget - so 20 euro/night is max.

And thanks for the info on "nightclubs"!

I went to a club (don't know the name anymore) with my captain and some other sailors and captains when we were with our inland-ships in Budapest. Also the same thing happened. Only difference that we were fighting with the bodyguards and ofcourse did not pay at all.

Do not forget Budapest is a very nice city but these thing can happen like in any other city. Do not blame a whole city for what happened in one small place.

Despite that accident the city is truly lovely. My impression is that it's a city between two worlds: the western and the eastern .

Lovely food, and when i came there it was incredibly cheap (5 euros per meal at restaurants beer included).
The women are beautiful and the city has a lot of wide and nice streets. Our experience was helped by a nice weather in April.
