Not the most direct route to Australia but even more surprising that it has taken 45 years.

Hi everyone...stumbled on this great site whilst researching my next trekking adventure in Australia arriving January 2006. I really like the mix of travel info, informed comment and guidance - this is my first post and i hope not my last.

I have sold my house, the resident visa is on its way and my employer kindly obliged by closing down the office making my job redundant. I will receive some money that should help pay the cost of a 4x4 when i arrive, to get to those hard to reach but breath-takingly beautiful places.
It just cant get any better than this! The plan is to spend the first 6 months touring all over before settling down in a job. And if the Oz life-style suits me...there's no going back.

Guess I am saying its never too late to make your dreams happen.

Happy travels.
