We just got back from a great week in Noosa Heads, a beachside town north of Brisbane. It was our first trip there and we'll definitely be back.
We stayed at the French Quarter Resort, but I noticed a backpackers place called Halse Lodge behind our hotel. I have no idea if it's any good, but the location is great; a 2 minute walk from the beach, the restaurants, and the pub - hard to beat that.
Noosa has some excellent surfing beaches as well as some great walking trails. The weather this time of year is about 28 degrees (82 F). Highly recommended.
Oh, I also recommend the French Quarter Resort.
James, you're a lucky man! I unfortunately only saw Noosa from behind the glas of a Greyhound window But I stayed not too far from there (Maroochydore - sp?) and the area as a whole is very nice. Noosa has a bit more action going for it I believe and is generally still considered one of the best places to stop off on the East Coast for surfing and genuine chillin' .
On the 'to do' list for next time I travel the East Coast!!!
James, you are definately right there,Nossa is a place well worth visiting. For wildlife lovers, the bush round there is fantastic... If your not into the bush, the golf courses are also flooded with native fauna...
forgive my spelling... I obviously meant Noosa
