goin to greece next week, and unsure of the weather and availability of stuff on the islands - does anyone know what it is like on the islands at the moment? or are the ALL shut? anyone know any that will def. still be open with some signs of life!? or should i just stay in athens - and spend a FORTUNE!
I think you should be OK as I am going Brindisi;Italy on 3 Nov with www.ryanair.com and travelling by bus and ferry back to Malta,6days total,I'am just bored waiting for Christmas so I can hit de road to Bangkok.
Have a read of "Winter Sun Destinations" THREAD in EUROPE just below your thread and it might!!!!! give you a few hints but go anyway, what have you got to loose.
If you want to travel just use the hoovercraft ferrys from Greece to Italy(Brindisi)-Sicily-Malta and Tunisia and that would be a journey to remember, when on firm ground just use bus's.
Try links, destinations at top of page or use Lonely Planet Western Europe as I have for info.
Have a good trip and enjoy your travels.

Most of the places on the island are shut! Whatever is opened, it’s running for the locals during the winter. If you still decide to go for island, go to Crete. It’s the biggest Greek island, located on the south with comparably hotter temperature than everywhere in Greece and many places to visit…even in this season of the year!
There are many Greeks in Australia who maybe can help you with their suggestions as well. Alternative location unknown to many foreign and information about the weather you can find on:
www.ert.gr > English version > other sites > traveling around Greece
But definitely, don’t stay in Athens…it’s a judge...hehehehehe!!!
