Hi
im gettinga bus to koh tao tonight! gonna do some diving hopefully then head to the samui and koh phangan
had a quick look and cant find much accomodation for koh tao, i got the impression that quite a bit accomodation is linked with the diving schools, if you book a dive you get a 50% discount for some of them.
If your going to be there soon and fancy maybe meeting up let me know
have fun
Manda

Most accomodation on Koh Tao is linked with diving schools but there is a few good places for those who don't care about diving.

A good place to go if you're looking for some peace and quiet is Au Leuk, it's a little bay with excellent swimming and cheap basic bungalows.

Hey,

I'm just home from a year away, and the last 3 weeks were spent in Thailand, we stayed on Koh Samui for 2-3 nights, it was good, but not as good as Koh Pha Ngan, it was brilliant!! We stayed in the Seaview bungalows, they were really good, right on the beach (I get confused with the names, but it was the opposite side from the ferry port) They hold the full moon party on the beach, once a month (www.fullmoonparty.com for more info) We ended staying far longer that we planned, and we don't regret it!! The only thing I would recommend is stay as far away from the jet skis on that beach with a barge pole! We saw an awful accident when we were there, and the guys who run them are very dodgy, ie no insurance etc. So stay away from them!!

If you want to know anything else, just message me.

Rhiannon

I forgot to say, Scruffy Murphy's in Koh Samui is always good for a night out, we met loads of irish people there, and ended up with them in Koh Pha Ngan, so it might be useful for meeting people!

Hi,

within the vicinity of Mango Square (Caweng Beach area) in Ko Samui, there are loads of guesthouses, some tucked away from the beach and the main road...u find lots of backpackers, most of whom have plans to hit Phanga..join them...

have fun

I stayed at Palita Lodge on Ko Pha Ngan and that was really nice. Also cheap - they had budget rooms for 150Baht, or 250 for a bungalow away from the beach (but still only about 50m away) and also bungalows really near to the beach for 500 Baht.

Palita Lodge was on the busier side of Hat Rin (think it was sunrise beach) but I also stayed at Coral Bungalows on the other side (sunset beach) which was a bit quieter but still okay.
