Hi all,

I know we had a thread going about this a while back but thought I'd post something here on the rules that are going to be applying for those of you interested in getting a second working holiday visa to Australia (these terms are on top of the ones for the first WHM visa).

From DIMIA FAQ on Working Holiday Maker visas number 6

From 1 November 2005, Working Holiday Makers who have worked as a seasonal worker in regional Australia for a minimum of three months will be eligible to apply for a second Working Holiday visa allowing them to stay in Australia for a further 12 months.

For the purposes of meeting the requirements for a second Working Holiday visa, 'seasonal work'and 'regional Australia' are defined as:

* Seasonal work: harvesting and/or packing of fruit and vegetable crops, pruning and trimming vines and trees, thinning and trimming flowers and bunches, and general maintenance crop work
* Regional Australia: anywhere in Australia except Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, the NSW Central Coast, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth, Melbourne or the ACT. Any area identified on the Australian JobSearch website as requiring harvest workers will come within the definition of 'regional Australia'.

You will also need to have proof of the work you did in the regional areas, for which you will have to use a specific form. The form is linked to from FAQ 2 (number 1263 downloadable in PDF format). If I am not mistaken the employers you have worked for need to sign off on this little puppy.

Anyways, might be of interest to those of you that aren't 31 yet and still thinking of going back to Australia! :)

Hmmm, last time I checked my name was still showing Sam. Who is this Alex?? :) For the first one, click on the any of the links above and read the FAQ's. I don't think India is listed as a partner country so it's basically not possible.

Hi Dimphina, as I wrote to you previously: you will have to contact your family in Australia about getting a visa based on family connections. Or go as a tourist, which means you cannot work. Indian nationals are not eligible for Working Holiday Visas.
