Hello all. I am flying out from Heathrow around midday on the 10th, but need to be there to check in for 10am. I arrive at London by plane the day before to have a little scout about, and was gonna head out to Heathrow on the last express train of the day (bout 11pm).
I was just wondering what the security measures were like at Heathrow right now, and whether I would encounter any difficulties in my quest to find somewhere warm and free to sleep?
I reckon you'll be absolutely fine mate, Heathrow is massive and there's loads of people waiting around. The only thing I;d think about is getting through to departures, and I'm not sure if you can with a ticket for that many hours in advance...
thats my two bobs worth anyway
I haven't got direct experience of staying overnight whilst waiting for a departure. However, I arrivedon a 1am flight once, facing a six hour wait before the tube started, but couldn't find a seat, or a floor that wasn't being swept, and all the facilites were closed or closing.
You may well be fine, but have a backup plan just in case.
Thanks for your input guys. think I'll chance it and let the optimism do the work. There are always hotels nearby if worst comes to the worst.
