I am visiting Dublin for the first time. I'll arrive there tomorrow (24th) and leave on thursday (27th) and I'll have my camera with me as always. It's a business trip, but I'll have some time of my own in the early mornings and in the evenings.
Could someone give me some tips where should I definitely go to shoot photos? Are there some special places that I should visit for example at the time when the sun is rising or setting?
there are a couple of good things you can take pictures of, I think you can get good shots of the City when you're standing on any of the bridges... I have a nice shot of the sunset taken while kneeling down on O'Connell Bridge looking through the railing.
Phoenix Park would be good as well, to get there you'd have to take the Number 10 Bus from O'Connell Street to the last Stop and then go up through the gates and you're inside the Park.
Also Christchurch Cathedral is quite popular with Photographers and Painters.
There are a couple of nice statues dotted around the city as well...
But I'd recommend to just walk around and see what you can get, but the Southside of the River is better, and there are a couple of Parks within 10 minute walk.
I hope this helps. Let me know when you've uploaded the pictures, I'd love to see what you've found.
Thanks Phil :-)
I came back home yesterday evening and haven't been able to check my pictures yet.
The city was very nice and offered a lot to see. I am little disappointed to my self that I don't have enough courage to photograph ordinary people on the street. There were so many situations that would have offered extremely great portraits.
I'll upload some pictures tomorrow if possible :-)
I know how you're feeling, I am the same... I don't like taking pictures of people, I feel like I am intruding...
But you certainly see quite a few characters here in Dublin...
I have uploaded now some tourist photos from Dublin. I'll keep the gallery public and password free until the end of this week. Hope you have time to visit and see.
