barge has indicated that this thread is about Fiji

Hi guys,

We are heading to Fiji but struggling to get sound advice as to which island is best to go to on a budget and the best way to find cheap accommdation.

Can anyone share any advice, for example do we get better deals booking in advance or booking in Nadi and is it better to have meals included.

Cheers

We spent 14 days in Fiji and all i can say is ....... do not book for NADI!!! We found it hell on earth! even the taxi driver told us it was not safe for tourists!

If you can get onto the islands... they are paradise. There are regular ferries a few times a day and there seems to be a lot of different types of accomodation. The sea is clear and swimmable!!

I hope you enjoy

Fiji is not a cheap destination-you'll pay to get to one of the islands and few have bare bones accommodation.
The good feature of Fiji is that you get what you pay for-that also means there are some terrbile 'deals' in terms of budget digs.
