I was wondering if anybody could give me any information on something I saw when I was recently on a short visit to venice.
Whilst travelling on a river boat I saw what appeared to be a huge version of a KLU KLUX KLAN mask on the river bank.
Could anyone tell me what this is all about as it seemed a most strange site.
where exactly - which river bank? what canal or street were u on? i was there recently and the city was free of most redneck, racsist propoganda.
don't worry. that was the outmost pavillion of the venice biennale of art, a contemporary art event that's very famous in italy. it's the albanian pavillion, and the artist is sislej xhafa. the istallation is a huge 23-mts-high ku klux klan mask crying water tears, out of the official art exhibition, but it's the only one that the visitors can always see, even when the exhibit's closed.
interesting symbol, don't u think?
