3 nights should be adequate unless you are into golfing -- if so, extend another night or 2.

Car rentals are inexpensive which i highly recommend to do -- car hires can be had for as little as $15 a day. Parking is free and you'll spend more on taxi.

I would say you will pay a minimum of $100 a night for a hotel, but you might find cheaper by visiting casino/hotel websites. Prices vary on time of year. I highly recommend you stay at a hotel on the strip -- if not you won't get the true Vegas trip you expect.

Drinks are free when you are gambling. You will find breakfast and dinner find buffets in $10 -$20 range. Some casinos/hotel will discount these buffets. Visit as many casinos as you can and you will find meal deals.

Don't forget your gambling $$$; if you are traveling with a frined you can split the cost of the room and car rental.

hi , i was in Vegas in June on my rtw trip, we stayed for 5 days and found it to be perfect, one of the days we done a tour to the grand canyon, which is a must!!!
As for accomodation, i presume your on some sort of budget if your doing a rtw, so i would say the sin city hostel, its the only hostel on the strip, about 10 mins walk past the stratosphere and they are a real friendly hostel, we met loads of people there.
Hope this helps

I would stay off the Strip. Try to time your visit between weekends. Rates often double on the weekends. The Station Casinos, Sam's Town and Arizona Charlie's have reasonable rates mid-week. The smaller off Strip hotels have to offer something to get business and low room/food rates are one way to entice visitors to their properties. Some have free shuttles to other hotels. Good Luck.

I agree, 3 nights will be enough. We stayed 5 nights. Sunday, Monday + Tuesday are useless! It's quite dead on those days.

Thurs, Fri, Sat is the time to go, but as you're aware is more expensive.

We stayed at the Luxor and it cost us $120/sat + $80/other days. We didn't pre-book, but negotiated a discount. I highly recommend staying on the strip!!

Getting around is a pain, it's a chore to even get across the street! I found taxi's to be ok ($10 at the most). Also, if you get a taxi, the drivers will usually give you free passes to the clubs etc if you ask.

Anyway, LV was the highlight of my trip. I had a fantastic time there!!

Good luck :)

I went for 7 days and nearly lost my mind

4-5 at the most

Can I recommend to you the Fireside Lounge opposite the Stardust, it claims to have never closed and is a bar open 24 hours a day. Slots O' fun opposite the Riviera is also a good laugh for the free drinks, $3 a hand blackjack and the colourful tourists that occupy a chair next to you. Some of the dealers there are hilarious also.

I agree with the day trip to the Grand Canyon, it is simply awesome and cannot be described by words.

ps Do your best to avoid the greyhound station, appalling.

paying a hundred dollars a night in Las vegas is really silly!!!!!!
as a rtw your probably on a budget and a little off strip you could easily pay half that.
and save the cash for a copter ride or hummer safari out to the grand canyon.
anyone over paying in LV is wasting cash.
and i'd say three days max...unless you have unlimited cash and love stud!!
