I'll be touching down Barcelona from London on this coming 24th of Dec (Christmas Eve) I would like to know, what's the temperature there and will day time shorter and getting dark early, since it's end of the year at this corner?
Apparently knowing that most of the public transport here will be off due to Christmas and Boxing Holidays...will it be the same there in Barcelona?
Kindly please advise.
If you really can go to only one city on the Iberian Penninsula, go to Lisbon.
If you can aford it, go to Lisbon in April, to Madrid in September and to Barcelona in June or October.
Else between Madrid and Barcelona it is a toss up.
Both have very important art, culture, as well as the nightlife scene. They are both on a par with Copenhagen, Sankt Petersburg, Glasgow, Brussels, Paris, and Prague and in my opinion superior to London, Moscow and Berlin -- the latter three being the most over-valued, (i.e. given more credit than they deserve) cities in Europe.
Hey there!Ive visited to both and whilst Madrid was fun, I would have to reccomend Barcelona!Fantastic place! All the Gaudi work, the Sagrad Familia, the churches, museums, restaurants!I fell in love with the place!Great shopping, wonderful markets!
Hi super_ev and others
Well, first of all: I am spanish from Madrid ...
I havent been to Barcelona (yet !!) but I know its a great city as well as Madrid. In my opinion, if you wanna come in summer time, I would recommend u to go to the south coast: Granada, Cordoba, Malaga ... (too hot for making it to Madrid with nobeach around )
Friends of mine from all over the world who have travelled a lot agree that Granada is one of the best places to visit (and cheapest !!).
Drop me a line if u need some advice/help about good and cheap hostels to stay ... whatever !!! I will help u out if i can
Definetly Barcelona, I did not like Madrid much, I have heard however that South of Spain is amazing. Sevilla and all around that area.
I've only been to Madrid, and it was fun/interesting. However, I've heard that Barcelona is just a MUST SEE location, so I'd lean towards Barca, if you ask me.
