whats the best way to take photos? get them developed and carry around packs and packets of photos or buy a digital? would be good to email pics back home..(not sure if i would needs leads etc to put onto computer,or do they use cards or? (never used one before!)
thanks in advance!
Depends on what camera you get . I have a sony cyber short and it has a memory stick . Which means either with a adpt or a compatable pc i can take the card out and upload the pictures to the pc without cables .
I can also use a USB cable to connect to the pc and upload pics onto it. It quite easy really and all windows xp pc's will detect and install most cameras without having to install software .
If i was you i'd get a digital one . It saves on money getting pictures developed and also you can upload pics onto the net for all your family n friends at home to see .
Hope this helps
I'm with Al. Get a digital. There are places all over Oz where you just pop your memory stick into a machine and you can start processing your photos. You can also store them online. If you're taking loads of photos you will need a lot of storage space so maybe buy a USB stick of around 500mb for storage. Upload the photos to a PC at an Internet cafe then download onto your USB stick then clear your memory stick.
Hope that makes sense......
Definetly a digital camera, the quality is far better. I spent a year in Oz and had 2 memory cards for my camera, while I used one, I kept the spare one with me, then when it was full, I could swap it.
I got all my pictures burnt onto CD (half price in Camera House, if you're a YHA member, good tip!) and then carried the CD's with me. I ended up with about 10 CD's!!
I also had a picture trail website, where I could upload photo's and everyone back home could log on and look at them, saved emailing them or waiting til I got home and boring everyone with thousands of photo's!!! The website is www.picturetrail.com but there are other ones.
Hope this helps
