From what I have heard, Morocco and Egypt are pretty safe. I am going to Egypt this December. Kenya is nice but Nairobi (the capital) is a little unsafe. Hope this helps.

Namibia, Botswana and South Africa are one of the safest Countries in Africa. Avoid Countries such as Angola and Zimbabwe. Mozambique is also quite safe if you stay on the tourist routes!

Egypt. The Gambia and Senegal were safe when we were there, the majority of people can be really friendly...

Ghana is extremely safe, even for women travelling by themeselves. I strongly recommend it to anyone and everyone I spent a month there and felt safe the entire time, even taking the taxi around by myself at night.

If you would like to come back alive or atleast in one piece I think its best to avoid following countries. Sudan/Chad (especially in Darfur area), republic of Congo (ebola strikes there at the moment), Somalia, democratic republic of Congo (former Zaire), central-African republic, Algeria (things have changed lately but if you want to get abducted go there),

I have heard that Ethiopia is pretty safe at the moment and the real Africa. Its totally unspoiled by the tourist sector yet. If going here be aware of some unsafe area's especially near the borders with Sudan, Somalia and Eritrea (another pearl of Africa).

What's your plan. Are you willing to make an overland journey? The road from Ethiopia down to South-Africa is clear and bright open for you.....
