EVA Air out of Taiwan has outstanding rates and a good frequent flier program. Bangkok Air also has travel coupons in books of three, $50 each ($150 total). I generally avoid the usual suspects (Travelocity, Expedia) because going directly through the airline has been cheaper. China Air also has decent prices, and the planes are nice.

Thai Air, Korean Air, China Southern and China Eastern Airlines have web sites you can use.

I would like to make a short trip over to China from Hong Kong. I was wondering if:

1) I'm having a hard time finding flight information from Hong Kong to any of the major airports in China, e.g. Beijing, Shanghai, or Guang Zhou. I've looked at the normal list of carriers (Cathy, Air Asia, Eva, etc.) but can't seem to find arrival destination in China from HK. Any ideas? Also, does anyone know the average roundtrip flight cost of getting to China?

2) If not by air, how easy is it to travel to China via overland from HK?

Appreciate your help!

to fly fr HK to China, there is this Southern Airlines (http://www.cs-air.com/en/). In China, there are some ppl on the street will gv you a small call card offering cheap airfares to fly within China. Alternatively, u can get the hostel ppl to help you out as they might get some discount.

besides taking flight, you can take a train ride fr Kowloon (Hung Hom Train Station) to Guangzhou or Beijing. the sleeper train ride is abt 20+ hrs to BJ. not too bad if u have time.

yup,it is one fantastic way to Beijing or Guangzhou, even Shanghai by train. It will always cost you about 20++ hours.but luckily all the routes are running at night. That means you can waive one night on the train to sleep...maybe it is an good idea to save one night of hotel...And the train is comfortable too...Cheaper than airfare...and you can see more sights, although you are acrossing on the night...
Try to do it...;)
