Where can I learn to snowboard on the East Coast USA in January? Being from Ireland, I don't see much snow, and I'd love to get the chance to learn to snowboard. I've got anything up to a week to spare to learn.

Looked online, but not much jumping out at me. Any links or suggestions?

Vermont has great snow.

I would suggest learning to skateboard first, the priciples of balance are as close as one can come to snowboarding with no snow.

A few places to google:

Stowe, Vermont
Killington, Vermont
Okemo, Vermont
Sugarbush, Vermont
Stratton, Vermont
Mount Cranmore, New Hampshire
Waterville Valley, New Hampshire
Sugarloaf, Maine
Sunday River, Maine

Or you skip all of that and come to out West where it's much better!
