i never had a piggy bank. im so sentimental i would cry if i had to break it. it would just eat money. i think it would just be my friend.

I have one my grandfather gave me when I was eight. He brought it back from Mexico. It's been holding on to my change for 44 years - can't bring myself to break it either. There may be some pretty cool old coins in there, but I'll never know...

It's sort of the same here in Oz. I remember the huge debacle when some shopping centre in Sydney got told to remove their nativity scene because it could be demed to be offensive to non-Christians. I jus tthink it's hilarious.. next they will want to ban Santa... that's ok, he's always given me the creeps... :P

o.k. i've learnt my lesson . your a hard bunch. next time i read anything i'll copy it for you then you can blast the news paper concerned. maybe you can look it up on the web. we should pick a day in the year and just celebrate everything and give lots of present .

After all these years... Yeah, I'd have to say it is!
(But, I'm also the one who doesn't throw anything away (unless push comes to shove) because I don't want something coming back to haunt me...)

Maybe the lights should be left up all year and just called "Pretty Lights". (No, I'm not being sarcastic - I like the idea - just can't think of an appropriate name at the moment.)

The other name for them hear in NZ is "Fairy Lights" but I guess
some could find that offensive too
