Yo yo,

was interested in recent reports that Bolivia is going through a period of political instability and was wondering if any who has been there in recent weeks, is there now or is going to be travelling there can give me any advice regarding this matter.

I know some US government reports have warned their citizens about going there, but should this be taken at face value........

any thing will help

there is often demonstrations and times when the country is locked in dispute with the government, times have been bad recently, i had a freind who physically could not get out of La Paz for ages, and this does happen.
I dont think the situation is bad at all at the moment, but i am not there so i would not know exactly. I havent seen much in the news about it either. Most demonstrations are against government, not at tourists or general public, just stay away from them when trouble does erupt as the police can get very heavy handed, as they do all carry machine guns....

Bolivia has been going through some political instability for some time now.
I was there a few months ago and things were fine.
But, as is the case in many places, things can change quickly.
I recommend you check before you go.
And just keep your eyes and ears open when you're there.
Bolivia is an amzing country and it's well worth going to.

I believe the US government's current stance is to recommend you not step outside of your door.

From what I experienced, the unrest is not so much a danger as it is an annoyance.

was in Bolivia last month and felt completely safe in this wonderful country! Did not meet any demonstrations or roadblocks in the 3,5weeks I travelled around there. Though things might heaten up a little now with the elections coming in december. But I dont think that besides from the annoyances of having to wait for roadblocks, this wil be dangerous for foreigners. I found it, except for the bad roads, one of the most travel-friendly countries, and you really should not miss it.
Have fun there
