I am traveling central america so I don't know where I'll be on New Years Eve but if I am going to be in Costa Rica, I am going to Montezuma! Just a cosy and cool "hippie" town at the beach. One of the first entries in this post back in '05 recommend this place and I still think it is good for a good time at new years eve! :)

Are you a film-type Grip, Marcus?

Montezuma would be a good town for NYE. I was in Puerto Viejo for a NYE...It sucked. Not bad...just not fun or good or interesting...for those who find the NYE party an important event. I'd also avoid San Jose.

Yes I am a photographer and videographer :) You too?

Yeah Montezuma got the vibe! But I think it becomes what you'll make it to be. Maybe we'll see each other there.

Hey all-

I am heading back to CR for New Years. I lived there for 3.5 years, now located in South Miami. My friends are traveling to NYC to see Phish so I will most likely be bouncing around. I partied a couple years back in Mal Pais/ Santa Teresa area. It was a great time. I will most likely head back there or try Montezuma. I am not a huge Montezuma fan but hear it is a great place for NYE. Tamarindo is a no go. I hate that town, scetchy as hell, especially that time of year when locals from Liberia are around. Enjoy and remember, don't trust anyone.

Paz,
James

My boyfriend and I will be in Costa Rica for NYE too! Traveling around from Dec 29 - Jan 16. Looking for the most fun place to go for New Years (hopefully with a clean hostel near by). Message me for my email so we can all hang out and have a good time!

Here is a post we started that will be updated daily.

It's that time of year again. According to the Mayan calendar this might be your last opportunity to party it up for NYE in this dimension. Better make it count.
In an attempt to help you find the ultimate destination for your New Years Eve debauchery in Costa Rica or Panama, we here at [-b]-snip-[/b] will compile a list of all the great events we hear of. After that it's up to you to choose your own adventure.

If you have a party to add to the list please contact us
