hey ya'll, more desperate than ever to get out of England to Aus but have no money. Has any1 any ideas how I could raise 5k so that I could support myself for a year?

Is it feasible to get a 1 way flight then just work between 3-6mths and then take the money I've raised and move on to say south east asia?

Saving up money is a lot harder than it sounds. I worked out how much I'd need for Oz and with a year to save and my salary I though ... easy ! I wanted to go out with at least 2-3k ! With having a vague social life her and petrol for my car etc and just living you really dont realise how much you spend ! My flight insurance and visa cost £1700 altogether as we've got a few flights included in that to get us to Alice Springs, NZ and Fiji. But then if you cant borrow one you need a backpack, need to think about accomoadtion out there and whatever trips you might wanna do, Oz experience, and fraser and fitzroy island trips and stuff. Over a year after paying for my flights I have nearly £3000 so far for living costs there, and that was only with help of a 1k lottery win -lucky ey ! So you could maybe try buying a ticket but I wouldn't really recommend it, i played it one off, the odds are crap ! Anyway like you said, you could just pay for a one way ticket and work there to get the dosh to get home. STA travel who we booked through are doing a v good straight return deal at the moment though to Oz if you booked it now. Then at least you're guaranteed to get home so dont have to worry about that ! Then living you can sort out by working when there. Remember you'd need to get a working visa too. Ours cost £99 for 6 months. Good Luck !!

You could do a medical research trial - I know this sounds a bit extreme, but most of them arent. called 'Medival' in the UK I think.
