The main Buddha attraction in Bangkok is the reclining Buddha (largest in the world). Sorry--only a couple of steps. If it's slinky action you're looking for, hit up the Bayon or Angkor Wat at the Temples of Angkor, or some of the Mayan ruins in Mexico. Or some of the Buddhist monasteries of Nepal. I'd think that would be a lot more fun.

Keeping in mind, of course, that the temples and monasteries are still used for worship...

Maybe save the slinky for Mexico.

Is this the Big Buddha you mean? http://www.samui.org/temples/big_buddha.htm

It's on Koh Samui, when you are on the landing approach you fly right past it. Never been right up to it though, only seen it from a distance, it's close to Bophut beach.
