ok, thinking of taking a mobile phone/mp3 player/digi camera in one.... but will i be able to readily charge it in youth hostels across South East Asia?

Yes, mostly, though obviously you will need to buy the relevant adapter(s).

all you need is a worldwide adapter from boots or tesco's or somewhere. then u plug it into the wall in almost every room you'll stay in. dont panic my friend! its easy.

i worried about that but ive been through thailand, laos, cambodia, vietnam and no probs!

once i was asked for 120 baht (a price that that guesthouse charge for a double basic room) to charge my mobile in the reception (there wasn't any plugs anywhere in that large, old wooden building).

I simply changed the guest house
