I was in Boston a coule of years ago after a trip to Killington. What a great city! I wanted to move there - really chilled out, studenty vibe about the place.

It was COLD though!!

Ok... away from the bar scene Boston still has a lot to offer. The aquarium is one of the best in the world, the USS Constitution (the old frigate from the revolutionary war) is well worth a visit, as is Harvard Yard, Cambridge(the town which houses MIT), the North End (the old Italian section of Boston), plenty of sporting and musical events as well as cultural venues.

The people are usually pretty friendly. The bar used for the exterior of Cheers I believe is still called the Bullfinch and is at the edge of Boston Commons.

It's a great city.

I really liked Boston. Best beer in the US for definite - went to that Boston Beer Works place, very good, as well as many others. Had the obvious foodie things like chowder etc which were great. Also I got mistaken for Thom Yorke of Radiohead, which was interesting!

I thought the locals were quite friendly.
