Travel Forums Europe Suggestions re Serviced Apartment in Berlin

Hello people,

I'm going to be in Berlin for 6 weeks from the 1 June 2006; I'm taking long service leave and going to be studying my university course—which I take by correspondence—during the day, and enjoy the atmosphere of Berlin during the World Cup in the afternoons/evenings.

I'm looking for a serviced apartment in the Mitte District (I think this would probably be the most convenient to night spots, shopping, restaurants et cetera).

The serviced apartment must have in–room Internet (required for my university work).

I am budgeting for 2000+ Euro a month; mostly interested 4 and 5 star hotels.

(1) If you can suggest hotels that meet these requirements I would be very grateful.

(2) Will the World Cup matches be televised in some of Berlin's parks on large screens? I think this would be a nice way to enjoy the football games.

(3) What are some of Berlin's night life areas?

Thanks for the help.

Hi Dazz,

I don't know if you'll be able to get a 4 star hotel during the WC period for 2000 EUR a month (even out of it I think it would be tricky)....

Here's a list of 3 star hotels that someone sent me rates for today:

  • Panorama
    To city centre: 00 km
    To train: 50 m
    Single: 185

  • Junckers
    To city centre: 00 km
    To train: 200 m
    Single: 130

  • City Hotel Gendarm
    To city centre: 00 km
    To train: 200 m
    Single: 145

  • Econtel
    To city centre: 03 km
    To train: 100 m
    Single: 130-165

  • Gold Hotel
    To city centre: 03 km
    To train: 1 km
    Single: 125

  • Astoria
    To city centre: 06 km
    To train: 250 m
    Single: 190

If you want me to put you in contact with the woman that sent me the rates, let me know!

Thanks Sam I Am,

Thinking I will have to pay more than 2000; finding a lot of hotels booked up.

I'll keep checking them.

Thanks for your help.
