Travel Forums Asia SE Asia in 28 days...

Hello All!
I'm planning my next vacation (Dec 05-Jan 06) through some countries in SE Asia...I'm not sure if this itinerary would be feasible. So I need your feedback and all the suggestion would be much appreciated.
My main interests are archaeologic places, natural enviroment and beautiful beaches.

I just have 28 days and It'll be an overland trip:

Hong Kong(2d)-Laos(4d)-Bangkok(3d)-Ko Chang(5d)-Phnom Penh(3d)-Siam Reap(4d)- sail to Saigon(3d)-Hanoi(3d)-Hong Kong(1d).

Thanks in advance for the advice,
Pati

you can go from Ko Chang (why 5 days?) to Siam Reap to Phnom Penh.

try to squize in Ayuthaya near Bangkok (the former Thai capital).

be aware that over xmas/new year accommodation and transport might be fully booked

I agree with Ian on several points. The month of Dec is the busiest in SEA. Getting transport and accomodation as you travel will be challenging. I think you will have to drop Laos and shorten Koh Chang to 2 days for this trip to be anything but a rush through SEA. 2 days of beach on Koh Chang, then van and bus to Phnom Penh. 2 days there are enough for Royal Palace, National Museum, Killing Fields, Toul Seng Tonle Batie. Boat to Siem Reap and a 3 day pass at Angkor Wat. Boat across Tonle Sap to PP, boat to Chau Doc, bus to HCMC. 3 days in HCMC allow for Cu Cui tunnels & Cao Dai Temple, 1 day delta tour and city tour. Bus to Nha Trang, 3 days beach, island tour, Cham ruins. Train to HaNoi. I think that makes more sense than trying to get Laos into this trip as well as Cambodia and Vietnam. Good Luck

Laos is part of my itinerary coz it's on the way to get Bkk from Hkk (overland) besides is my option instead to go to Chiang Mai...
The other option is to take a fly from hkk to bkk just one way...and drop Laos...
Ayuthaya, sure it's in my itinerary in bkk...thanks Ian.
Do you think i can get a bus from Ko Chang to siam reap? it must be great!
Mike, thanks for the recommendation in Vietnam...now i have more ideas where exactly to go.

I'm open to any other suggestions.

Thks!
