Hell fellow travellers. I know this list will vary from person to person. But what are the best hostels u have lived in around Europe?
I stayed at the Flying Pig Downtown in Amsterdam once, and I had the time of my life. Then a year later I went to Barcelona and stayed in a shite place that I can't even remember the name of. And it didn't ruin my trip, but it didn't help to make it rally good either.
So you people around there. What places is a must to stay at when u are in different towns? I havent travelled that much in Europe, but if u are ever in Amsterdam, try our the Flying Pig.
Which Flying Pig was it in Amsterdam? There are two I believe ... but the FP's in general are good and get top marks every year.
There's a site that lists the 15 most famous hostels, no more than one per country, but I have suspicions it might be a site that is owned by at least one of the properties, and perhaps all. Not hard in that case to be listed, but it is a pretty reputable list.
I stayed at Avalon House in Dublin and it's a good one. I've heard good things about the Generator hostels as well. There's one in London and one in Berlin.
Stayed at a terrible one in Utrecht, but I can't for the life of me remember the name
I'm stumped to remember the name of it now...I have it's card somewhere but I stayed in the most amazing hostel in Nerja South Spain. the place was run by this gorgeous cockney it had a little chill out area with a bar and great music and I have never had such plush rooms for so little before in my life!
I stayed at the one in Neivendijk, downtown I think it was called. The only problem with it was that we were never able to leave it in the evenings. It was to much fun. hehe.
Rowardennan, on the east bank of Loch Lomond in Scotland. It's wonderfully isolated and away from the crazy touristy spots on the western side. It's also right at the base of Ben Lomond, great for hiking.
The hostels all over Scotland (in general) are very well kept and comfortable. I can't say as I've had a bad experience.
The best hostel I have stayed at was Athens backpackers, obviously in Athens. It had the best atmosphere and everyone was so friendly. I felt so sad when I had to leave..
Best hotel in Europe?????
And of course you will find it in beautiful Catalonia, Spain, with the Costa Brava and Costa Dorada and of course with the stylish and peerless city BARCELONA!
[ Edit: Sorry, no promos in the forum please. ]
best hostel so far for me was the Old Town Hostel in Vilnius.
very comfortable, nice communal kitchen area and lounge.
