East coast Australia: Oz experience or greyhound bus?

Travel Forums Australia / New Zealand & The Pacific East coast Australia: Oz experience or greyhound bus?

Will be travelling from Cairnes to Brisbane in a few weeks. Am mid twenties lone female traveller. Wondering whether Oz experience will be a bit too young and crazy for me or whether greyhound bus will be a bit lonely and 'unguided'?

Will only be travelling this stretch for 2-3 weeks. Any advice about which bus is best would be apreciated. Thanks.

Hey there,

Only travelled via the greyhound in Aus, did the route of Cairns to Melbourne, with all the usual stops. I thought it was cool, the routes are busy so there are always people to speak too and hook up with. The buses were always pretty much full of travellers, so everyone is doing the same sort of thing.

Heard good things about Oz Experience aswell though. A few people who were old codgers(!?!) like me said that it can be a bit young but still good.

Think Greyhound is a bit cheaper aswell?

Enjoy the green with envy!

It depends.

If you want to pay over 400 dollars, go to a load of nothing towns, have a choice of one bus departure per day and get stuck in some places for up to four days then go with Oz.

If you want to save a couple of hundred dollars, have the choice of five bus departures per day, and go to all the top spots then go with Greyhound.
