We learn Spanish in Buenos Aires two afternoons a week at the Faculdad de Ingenieria and there are only 4 students in the class. It is very cheap and quite intensive, but the verbs are killing us! I hope we can improve and next time take the more intensive course.

Spanish is a reach and lovely language but... verbs. Yes at the very first time spanish look like "very close to english", "Very easy" but...in fact Spanish use 9 different words to build a sentence, all is about of the programm and the teacher ... good luck!!
By the way... you traslate sooo good!!!!

Thank you for the nice comments. However, I forgot to say that you do not need to be a citizen or a resident of Argentina to enroll in this course. Simply bring your passport number when you get registered. The cost is 45 pesos per month, plus an enrollment charge for the first month only.

What kind of help ?

Hello again Macachae,
1. I believe that it does not matter who the language teacher is, the verbs are all bastards!
2. I love cheap food, cheap wine and cheap Spanish lessons! I am Scottish- you must know of our reputation? I recommend this course precisely because it is so cheap; there is not too much to risk!
3. I am doing other Castellano courses, not just this one. (4 hours a week in no way is enough.)
4. Perhaps, when the time is right,Isadora's help culd be what I need. Meanwhile, I need to concentrate on the basics. In reality, my biggest problem is not reading, or writing or speaking, but understanding when other people are talking. I need to practise, and to practise.
5. If possible, would appreciate more comments on my translations. Please.

Hola Macachae otra vez,

What Macachae is referencing is your first post about the course with which you are involved. It could be viewed as promotional - that is, you are soliciting for the school or the program. I don't think that's an issue as you have not posted links nor contact e-mail addresses. But, promotional postings are not allowed in the forums. They are, instead, a place to ask for and receive information - not advertise.
I think this thread is a great one for learning and receiving help with the Spanish language. I hope you and Macachae are able to share information that will also be useful to others. Thank you.

I am sorry if I have offended anybody. Sorry, also in my ignorance I thought Isadora was a teacher of Spanish. My intention was both to practice a little Spanish and report to the members of the public (the readers of this forum) that a public utility offered by a non-profit organization (the faculty) could have more value has than some others. My other worry is that if more people do not enrol with this service, it will cease to exist. At the moment, with few participants, surely it is not even paying the teacher's wages. I think that some people who want to learn Spanish are not rich gringos -I know that I am not- and these people need to know about cheaper alternatives. I do not work for the faculty and my only connection is as a casual student. In the same way, I can recommend that the subte rail or the bus service is a good way to get around the city, or also that the Ecological Park is one of the nice ways to spend a Sunday afternoon.....(This was a difficult translation for me!)

Estoy apenado si he ofendido a alguien.
