I'm planning a trip to South Africa next year, but I am on an EXTREMELY tight time schedule. I only have 3 weeks! I have read numerous books and guides telling me what to do and see, etc but I want to hear from more people, so I can decide which parts are absolutely essential and try and plan my route through to them all.
HELP!! I need you input.
Yeah me toooo. Only i want to go for 6 months or so. I heard about a lovely place called Knysna so if there is anyone out there who knows anything about i'd love to hear.
Ok well, being from Cape Town I am obviously going to suggest that you have to visit the Mother city (as we call it) but obviously you should see the Safari side of things too.
So I'll give you a list of what you should try and see in CT. I hope you are going in summer time (Nov-Feb) so that you can visit some beaches too.
[*]Robben Island (very moving experience)
[*]Table Mountain (take a trip up the cable car and see the stunning views of the Cape from atop)
[*]Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (having a picnic in the gardens is one of my alltime fave things to do)
[*]V&A Waterfront (ok it's very touristy but they have really good restaurants and shopping and also lots of entertainment going on at once especially during the summer)
There's so many other things to do but if you're pressed for time then seeing those 4 things will make your trip to CT worthwhile.
As for Knysna.....it is a stunning and quaint little town outside of Cape Town along the Garden Route. Very quiet but simply adorable. You can see the Knysna Forests and all sorts of flora and fauna.
I hope you enjoy it.
If you want me to send you some pics of Cape Town from my own collection, I'd be more than happy to send you some. Just let me know.
