I don't doubt that these countires are beautiful, but is it their beauty that make for instance HaJafMark want to go there right now..?
Probably not. But of course I might be wrong so I would be interested to know because in my opinion it seems a bit pathetic and pathological wanting to 'circle around' a war or deeply conflicted area.
What kind of experience is such a person after?

It must be very odd for people living smack in the middle of war, terror and carnage that there are some out there who find it 'interesting' to get as close as they can to all the tragedy, tears and blood, but not close enough to really see it, feel it and understand on a deeply emotionally level what it's like to live through it.

I've been to North Korea (for 3 weeks) but not to either Iran or Iraq. If you have the chance, go. Leave the political baggage behind, I think the experience you'll go through will be more valuable than it.
