Just a question to anyone who's been to Brazil really.. I'm a single male going solo in Brazil for 3 months in 2006. I've got points of contact but I'll be staying most of the time in hostels meeting other travellers I expect. But i wanted to know how friendly and approachable Brazilians are in clubs and bars.. Coming from London there is definately a quite "cold" attitude towards people and especially towards foreigners which is why Brazilians, Spanish, Italians etc (any non-speaking English nationality) generally tend to stick together. I've noticed Brazilians i meet here are really friendly but is it like that in Brazil? Will i get a hostile reception from some people for being a foreigner or "gringo" as they call it? Are the women quite approachable when you go out or do they generally tend to avoid foreigners? I speak a little bit of Portugese (probably just about enough to have a very basic conversation!) so I guess this might help a little... So if anyone's got any useful bits of advice or anecdotes from their time enjoying the nightlife in Brazil please let me know - I'd love to know what to expect!
