Hi Everybody!

I have planned the following itinerary for my parants (65yrs.) visit to Bangkok.

Day 1: Half day city tour (arranged by hotel), lunch at hotel, Pratunam market, Erawan Shrine (if not covered in city tour),Suan Lum market in the evening followed by dinner.

Day 2: Grand palace, Wat Arun by boat, lunch at Pahurat/ hotel. In the afternoon Jim thompson house & Siam Square/ World Trade Centre follwed by dinner at MBK.

Day 3: Alternative 1: Chatchuak Market in the morning and riverside hotel night cruise in the night, or
Alternative 2: Floating Market & Rose Garden

I could not fit in canal cruise or any other interesting place.
Parents are not likely to use sky train much. I also want to rule out places with too much walking/ physical exertion.

This is based on reading through the forum. I have never been to Bangkok before.
1. I request your suggestions on the above itinerary.
2. As taxi would be preferred mode of transport, which area/ hotel would be preferred in budget range.

You should try to make time to visit the Ancient City. You can do it in an afternoon. Definitely worth a few hours of your time if you want to have an insight into Thai history and culture.

How much do you want to pay for a night in a hotel? Your budget hotel may be my expensive hotel.

I would stay in the Siam or Sukhumvit part of Bangkok.

Taxis are cheap in Bangkok, only pay the meter price.
