thanks dana for the infos,

that's exactly what I need. I will be in Thailand from 10th dec up to Feb next year, so at least I can be close to my laptop

and and ... do you know where I can fixed my laptop? Perhaps there are some computer shops around in Siam Square or near Khao San for example. Indeed bit crazy to fix the laptop there but in my place it's almost impossible to do for difficult software installation.

Unless you need your laptop for business reasons I would leave it at home. There are lots and lots of cheap internet shops all over the country. Prices range from one half baht per minute to 2 bahts per minute. Depending on how fancy the shop is, average is probably around 1 baht per minute.

If you leave your laptop at home you won't have to worry about dropping it or having it stolen. And you won't have to fix it here in Thailand.

Usually I do so, but I give up to do my own installation
In Europe it's trully difficult to ask computer shop to do it for me, if so it's expensive. Then during the travel I just put my laptop in service center
