Primark alternative in Australia?

Travel Forums Australia / New Zealand & The Pacific Primark alternative in Australia?

Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone knew the name of a clothes chain in Australian which is not unlike our UK Primark's/Matalan's?

Being that I'll be on a budget and only able to fit so much into my rucksack if I need to buy clothes for any reason, I'd prefer if they were dirt cheap so I don't feel bad leaving them behind when I no longer need them.

Anyone know of any?

Hey,

There's a huge big chain called Target, they're quite similar to Primark/Matalan.

I've just spent a year in Oz and found Target a good shop for everyday clothes, you'll not find top quality but it's decent enough for when your travelling around. I only wish there was one in Scotland!!

Hope this helps

If you're in the Sydney metro area, maybe check out SES/Grace Marr/Avacodo - they're different chains, but they all carry essentially the same stock and they often have $5 and $10 racks. There's an SES clearance store on George St, Town Hall, opposite the cinemas but a bit further down (same side and block as the Metro Theatre) and another at the end of the Devonshire St Tunnel at Central Station.

Also, maybe Valley Girl & Temt stores, if you happen to be near a Westfield Shopping Centre or something similar. There's a Valley Girl in the Town Hall Station shopping complex (near the QvB exit, but sort of on the right hand corridor, not the left that goes to the QVB), which can be pretty cheap at times.

Hope that helps - bit of a late reply, sorry.
