Hi. Could anyone please tell me how much time i need to get from Mumbai to Delhi overland, and also whether its best to go by bus or train. I am hoping to fly into Mumbai and out of Delhi in under 3 days (not much time hence the worry). Thank you

Hi
It can be done by train?? and bus?? but it will be very tight and you will have no chance to see anything at all.
To get used to the hustle and bustle of India you need to fly in and have a chance to settle down FIRST.
Do a google; train/bus from Bombay to Delhi.

The Rajdhani express takes you in 16,5 hours from Mumbai to Delhi for 485 rupees (10 euro). Good luck in those three days.......

Hi,
The best way to travel from Mumbai to Delhi would be by train..economical and good.Take one of the fastest trains like Rajadhani. Ofcourse if you can afford, you can fly.

I would think of flying.

Specialy if you still want to see something in India in those 3 days.
India also has it's cheap airlines so it could be a quick option.

at this page http://www.ghptravel.com/htm/cfly/bom.htm you can see the option you have.

Good luck,
George
