Hello, looking for a great book, packed with adventure, travel and excitement.

I'm thinking along the lines of 'Papillion' by Henri Charierre.

any suggestion very welcome!

You could try 'three men in a raft - an improbable journey down the amazon' Its about 3 guys with no experience who decide to raft the amazon from it's source to the ocean. Pretty damn crazy coz they are only numbers 4 5 and 6 who have ever done it successfully!

If you haven't already read them, two of my favorite books are Alive by Piers Paul Read and Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer. Both amazing tales of survival.

Also, I read a book by a Canadian Colin Angus called "Lost in Mongolia" which is good.

Now isn't that funny. I posted my response including a book by Colin Angus, and then when and looked up this book. And one of the dudes in the raft, Colin Angus! This guy gets around. (I know his current adventure is making his way around the world on human power. Had a little falling out with his travel mate, though).

Do the "Chronicles of Narnia" count as adventure travel? Pretty adventurous, if you ask me, stepping into a country you didn't even know was there... JK!! ;)

Saving Fish From Drowning, by Amy Tan. I'm working on it right now.
