mim has indicated that this thread is about Brazil

Hi, just stumbled across this site while browsing on info for my trip to South America. What a find! It's pretty cool to be able to chat with so many people who are part of the world wide community
I'm heading off on my own pretty soon and am very nervous as I've only ever travelled with mates. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

cheers

mim

Hi mim, welcome to the site! The great thing about heading off on your own is that you are far more likely to meet new people, which has to be one of the great things about travelling in the first place. Don't be nervous, just make sure people back home know what you're up to and how they can get in touch with you. Let us know how you get on :)

Cheers, Peter

Hey Mim, welcome. Being nervous is only natural, but you'll find that disappears about 30seconds after you arrive!! If it helps, i almost always travel alone, and find that you see so much more and meet so many more amazing people than when your travelling with friends. It forces to open your eyes more and speak to lcoals/other travellers instead of using the sort of "safety" of just talking to your friend on bus/train journeys/in hostels etc.

Have a fantastic trip!
