JeanieV has indicated that this thread is about Greece

I will be in Athens in January, and I am trying to book a hotel. I have found three that look good - does anyone know anything about:

Hotel Tony, 26 Zaharitsa Str., Koukaki 11741 Athens
Marble House Hotel, An.Zinni 35, Koukaki
Austria Hotel Athens, Mousson, 7 11742 Athens

Any information would be appreciated.

I have stayed in hotels at both Syntagma (Constitution) Square and Omonia Square (King Mynos Hotel - not sure if it still exists). Both of these locations are good.

When in Athens you MUST take a day trip to some of the Islands close-by. Most travel agents will be able to help you. Basically, you get the train to Piraeus (the port) and catch a ferry that does a 3 island cruise. The islands they mostly go to are Hydra, Aegina and Poros. It's an excellent day, and gives you a bit of a taste of the Greek Islands should you not have time to vist them properly.

Sorry, that's all I can offer you.

Dear Jeannie,

All they are located in a nice area "quiet" and very close to all the archeological sites, just few steps from Acropolis.
I can not give you any comment as I have not visited any of the Hotels, the only I have to say is that Hotel Austria is the closer to Acropolis.
Koukaki and Makrigianni area is within the center of Athens but due to a lot of pedestrian areas are quiet. Due to the proximity at Acropolis and center you can avoid to use any bus or trolley-bus, as you can do most of the areas on foot.
