Going home is VERY daunting. I've been in the UK for nearly 5 years now - travelling here and there and working and settling a little more each year and the thought of going home is bitter sweet. I miss my family and friends like crazy but there is so much more going on here that I will miss when I go home. The biggest thing for me is that once I'm home all of this wonderful stuff here will be on the other side of the world and coming back will be very hard to do (cost and time without WHM visa etc). Travelling will not be the quick stopover to somewhere new in Europe when I feel like it (a long weekend here, a long weekend there! ). But Clara - you'll be coming back to all this and even though you wont be travelling about non-stop in exotic south american or middle eastern countries you will just be a hop skip and a jump from a whole lot of adventure. Use the wonderful Travellerspoint network to reminisce when your friends don't want to hear your stories 'again' and perhaps locate some more travelling buddies for shorter trips while you pay off debts, re-aquaint yourself with old friends, get some further qualifications and generally prepare for the next huge adventure. You can always come online and have a moan if you are frustrated - there are plenty of people here who can commiserate and help keep you going while you achieve some different goals!
