Thread subscription - digest versions???

Travel Forums System Talk Thread subscription - digest versions???

I may have asked this before, i forget, but just wondering if there would be an easy way to have a digest version of thread subscriptions. E.g. Instead of instantly delivering all updates to a thread, it it will deliver once every 24hours, with all answers in one mail.

An alternative, and which i'd love to see, would be some way that you could watch a thread without getting them delivered. For example, in your control pannel there would be a list of threads you are watching so you can get to them easily. At home I never subscribe to threads, but on the road there are some i am interested in or need to follow, but don't want my inbox overloaded with replies. But in order not to loose threads or forget about them, I have to subscribe which sends me a chunk of stuff I really don't want.

Many beers would be available for a quick solution (Sander!!) to either, but especially the last one!

Good idea Rich. I don't think it will quite solve your problem right away, but might be able to help a little at least.

Let me just test something here..

Pardon my double post. I've whipped something up. You still need to subscribe as per usual (which is why this probably won't help you much), but you can see all the threads you are subscribed to with unread ones up the top and in bold on this page.

Means you could theoretically ignore those emails and just log in and check that page. Haven't linked to it from anywhere yet though, so you'll have to bookmark it in the time being. Time for bed now though :)

Cheers, Peter

looking at my list i think that at one stage i was subscribed to any thread that seemed to be in off topic

Interesting. Cheers for that Peter. Thats definitely a start.

Now thats there, i can probably fiddle it quite easily by just changing my signed up email address so it goes to a different account, and one i don't check so much, meaning that my main address would be clear of subscriptions

Nice one; especially tied in with the last 50 threads you've posted in as well :)
