Just made it to Guatemala and plan on traveling central and south america for awhile. I received the oral vaccination for typhoid, but the day I was suppose to take the last pill was the day I was leaving and of course totally forgot. anyone with any information I would love to hear. thanks.
Are you asking for information concerning your missed dose of oral vaccine?
If you missed only one dose - hopefully you took it as soon s you remembered. If not, how long has it been since you were suppose to take it (ie: 24 hours, 3 days, 2 weeks)?
Here's what is said to do for missed doses:
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose. Instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. If you miss more than one dose, contact your doctor to establish a new dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Doubling the dose to "catch-up" can lead to an overdose of the medication. Though I have not found any information to substantiate this, if it were me and I still had the last dose, no matter what the time frame since my previous dose, I'd take it. But, again, I have not found anything saying how to handle a dose that has been missed for more than 24 hours.
the pills have to be kept in a refrigerator and of course still back at home in the U.S.. It will be a week thursday. Hopefully I can find someone to get me squared away without an overdose. thanks for you help!
Well, if typhoid ever strikes Portersville - you'll be ready!!!!
Sorry I couldn't find more info to help with your dilemma. Good luck and enjoy your travels!!!
