I was just thinking about how TP Forums are often politically charged, and it typically comes from current events. So I propose a new thread that discusses current events, and perhaps a sticky could be put on it so it won't go out of sight, and whenever a new event happens, if we want to discuss it, we can just post it on the current events thread. (wow, I need to stop abusing commas)
What do you guys think? Too much trouble? Or too broad of a subject to label into one thread?
It was just a passing thought.
There are so many of those. Maybe an entirely new forum ?
Too broad to put in one thread imo.
People will just start new ones any way, so it's going to be hard to police. Plus it would make that thread really hard to navigate.. I personally think the off topic forum is a good place for any political discussions.
I agree with Peter - the subject matter would become too broad and hard to navigate. The "Boycott" thread in Off Topic is a good example of just one subject expanding into several small conversations all taking place at once. Throw in a few more topics and it could become a moderating nightmare, or so cumbersome that people would lose interest very quickly.
A forum just for current events and "politically charged" threads... That could be very interesting, but also a scary place to visit. Don't get me wrong - I like the discussions. I just see a whole forum of such threads something that would be hard to control. Depending on the subject matter - Mods and/or Admin would have their hands full in just one forum.
