has anyone been stuck for a present for someone with a personality profile thats abvious and vague at he same time? I am stuck between a Suunto and the Nike 4 Lance Armstrong watch for a triathlete/road race enthusiast, who loves backpacking. Anyone with a clue who can help?

Hmmmm. I'm a big Road Race fan (and used to compete allot) and also a backpacker/travel freak, and I don't have a useful answer! People have asked me in the past, and i really don't know. I have all the travel stuff i need/use, and most road race/triathalete stuff is too specialised/expensive to ask for.

A Book could be one thing (several about people who have gone travelling with bikes, including one by Peter Moore who did the Tour de France route), watch might be good, but if he already has a fancy one (i.e. with a heart monitor or the like) it might not get used. I don't have the foggiest what a sunnto is, so would say that!

Something like a decent swiss army knife or leathermans always comes in useful, and might be an idea...?

Afraid thats not much help though
