You have a long time before you leave for Thailand, it's good that you are doing a little planning now.

In Bangkok I would choose a hotel on Sukhumvit or the Siam area so you can take advantage of the Skytrain. There is lots of nightlife in Bangkok. Phuket is another choice for beaches and nightlife. Really young people like to go out to Khao San Road, that's okay but you are limited on transportation choices.

Read up on Thailand and plan your trip ahead of time. You have to plan a budget and decide how much you want to spend per day. Hotels can range from 400 baht to 4000 baht a night, how much you can afford is up to you.

Read up on these message boards for specific recommendations, you also can access the Lonely Planet msg. bds (Thorn Tree Forum) for additional advice.

Hello there!!!You are going to have an amazing time!!!you said you wanted to see it all,how long are you going for?you need to do some background reading so you can see everything you want to see!Its a big country, so plan well!put from your post Im gathering maybe you are only interested in Bangkok? The Siam Sq and Sumkivit areas are really nice and there is a lot to do around those areas! If you are on more of a backpacker budget then you may want to stay on the Khao San Road. You are looking at around 250Baht a night for a room, theres plenty of places to eat nearby, its lively at nighttimes and you get to meet a lot of likeminded people!you said also that you wanted to go to the beaches....Bangkok doesnt have beaches, its a city!!!if you are planning on travelling around then i would say head to the beaches in the Krabi Province, theres some amazing Islands!Try Railay, Phi Phi, Laem Phra Nang!!!these were my favourites opposed to the East coast Islands!have fun!
